Holiday Shopping

By the time this goes live I'll be sat on a beach on Holiday, which I shall be blogging about when I get back as I just want to go and relax, but I will be taking lots of pictures that I will be uploading on my Instagram if you want to check them out my Instagram name is @hayley1315

So in prep for this holiday as it was so last minute I did a mad dash and bought in a few things that I needed for my holiday and these are a few of the "essential" things that I picked up and really liked.

The first is a jumpsuit that I picked up, I really like how baggy and lightweight the material of this was and the light blue made it a good summer colour. I bought this one from Primark for I belie £8 which is really cheap, you could get it in other colours but I really liked the blue one.

An essential piece of clothing I like in summer and when I go away is thin strap vest tops, I got a lot of this in various colours and patterns I usually only really where them in White but I decided to mix it up a little bit and buy some other patterns. I bought these from a number of different places as you can buy them from almost any clothes shop for really cheap.

I also bought a number of different pairs of shorts, some of which were just casual cotton shorts and some other more dresser shorts to wear in the evening including denim and silk shorts. Again I didn't really buy them from one shop, I got them from places like Primark, New Look, and some from River Island

From Primark I picked up a couple of casual dresses, I really like these kind of dresses as they are basically like a long T-Shirt so they are really soft and comfortable to wear.

I took a couple of skirts with me, this grey one was one of the ones that I liked most, I picked it up from Primark there were a number of different colours available, I'm not really adventurous in the colours that I wear so I went for the grey one as they are the kind of colours that work better for me.

Sun cream is an essential item that you cannot go away without, especially if you are going somewhere it is hot as some people tend not to wear it because they want to get a tan, but you can still tan even with sun cream you just burn and damage your skin. Protecting your skin is important and should be a priority whenever you're in the sun. I have to wear factor 50 because of how fair my skin is it just burns with the slightest amount of sun.

While in Boots I saw this nifty little Nivea hand luggage set which had all the essential things that I would need in terms of a little moisturiser, a lip balm, and some facial wipes which are really good to carry in your hand luggage to help you freshen up on your travels.

I also like to carry a little bag to carry my essentials like some money and my phone if I take it out with me as I don't really like the idea of carrying a big bag around with me because that is when I'm most likely to lose things.

If you were to go on holiday right now where would you go? And what 3 items would you take with you?

AntalyaTurkey

Being back home in the cold wet weather of England makes me miss the 30 degree weather of Antalya Turkey. Having spent the week there I started to fall in love with the beautiful weather and the beautiful place.

The trip wasn't really planned it was more of an impulse decision made by me and a couple of friends as we just needed a quick break to refresh before ending our first year of at university.

The hotel that we stayed in was absolutely amazing, and the people that were there lovely. The place had something to do for everyone, it came with its own water park and its own private beach. A few of the nights that I was there we decided to tag along with the group of entertainment staff that took guests out to go to some of the clubs that were in Antalya itself which was a good night, I don't really drink that much, but the music was really good and all thou I can't dance it was fun to try.

Even if you don't drink and the club isn't really your ideal place, there are plenty of other things that you can do to fill your time relaxing.

Being completely honest I do miss being lounged by the pool, England will always be my favourite place in the world (even with it's cold, miserable at times, weather) stay tuned as I will hopefully going on more adventures soon.

My Carry On Essentials

Anyone else a nervous wreck when it comes to going away? Nope just me... I'm just a nervous person and travelling tends to take its toll on my anxiety, although I am getting better at it and I absolutely love travelling it's just the build up to it and all the packing that you have to do, which is why I leave it all until a few days before rather than stress myself out even more by thinking about it for weeks before hand because then I just build myself up into an even bigger state.

This year I have decided that I want to travel more, travelling has always been part of the plan I want to see as much of the world as possible, to start my travelling adventure I have my first holiday abroad which I am going on with friends by the time this post is up I'll be sat comfortably round the pool drinking cocktails.

While packing I had a little bit of a panic spree of what do I put in my hand luggage?!?! as the holiday I am going on I can only take 5kg worth of hand luggage which when you think about it is not a lot, so I had to be strategic about what made it into my carry on and what I attempted to pack in my suitcase.

To start with for my hand luggage I opted to take my backpack which in itself is actually a mini luggage bag design for this reason, how cool is that I actually didn't know that. So it's really nothing fancy just a plain backpack, the particular one I have is from Hot Tuna (link) it isn't the most girl bag that I could have gone for but it serves it's purpose and holds everything I need it to, it also has the option to turn it into a kind of satchel so rather than carrying it on your back you can add the strap so you can carry it at your side. I personally just use the 2 straps for my shoulders.

The first essential item in my carry on is my passport as I am getting absolutely no where on my travels without it. So this is a must have item, I just have a typical British passport, as I've just renewed it I haven't got round to getting one of the fancy cases to keep it in just yet.

Next thing is any travel document that you need to take with you, for example to travel to some countries you're required to have a visa so things like that are usually tucked in my carry on so I know exactly where they are.

When travelling anywhere whether it be abroad or just my daily commutes I like to carry hand sanitizer with me all the time, just simply because your hands go absolutely everywhere and sometimes you can touch things that feel disgusting and you don't always have access to wash your hands, so I always have hand sanitize with me.

My phone charger is something that always makes it into my hand luggage rather than my suitcase for a number of reasons, one being that it's always the last thing that I put in my bag, and two I have a battery pack for when you phone needs that extra life so I need the wire for that one. I also usually carry a spare pair of earphones with me in case my others break.

One of my greatest fears when I travel on a plane is that they are going to lose my luggage, I never have lost it (fingers crossed I never will) but it can happen, which is why I always carry a spare set of clothes with me, as when you're travelling between countries they can sometimes be at opposite ends in terms of weather, for example where you're leaving from my be freezing cold but then where you're going might be really hot, so having a spare pair of clothes to change into is always a good shout. Because of this I also usually carry things like my toothbrush and toothpaste just in case because even if you've lost everything else at least you'll be able to brush your teeth and have fresh breathe.

So those are some of the things I like to carry with me on my short haul flights, with long haul flights I tend to carry a few different items which I might do a blog post on later if you'd like to see that then let me know in the comments section. What are some of the things that you carry in your hand luggage on your travels?

Basic Summer Look

With spring coming slowly to an end and us starting to enter into summer I decided to do a basic summer makeup tutorial which is the video down below... also by the time this goes up I will be lounging on a beach in Turkey where hopefully it's going to be amazingly warm, and when it's really hot I don't like wearing large amounts of make up so this look is also something that could work if you're lucky enough to be going away soon....

Products used

Maybelline Dream  Velvet Foundation- I have this in the shade Ivory, this is a foundation that is new to me and I like to coverage that it gives from such a minimal amount, which makes it perfect for part of the summer look as it means you don't have to cake your foundation on to get a solid coverage.

Avon Ideally Flawless Cream Concealer- This is my go to concealer for almost every look, I use this concealer more than any other concealer that I have, as it's a cream concealer it gives a better coverage and blends really well, it also doesn't really crease like I find most other cream concealers do. I also like the convenience of the packaging as it comes in a little flat circle tub which doesn't take up much room in my makeup bag.

Avon Illuminating Face Pearls- This is a mixture of bronzer and highlighter pearls, the reason I opted for these rather than a full bronzer is because I simple wanted to add a glow to the look as it's summer so I don't want to look as pale as normal, but at the same time I wanted to make it look more natural.

Natural Collection Blushed Cheeks- I have this in the shade Rosey Glow which is a very natural pink, so it adds a healthy glow to the look and brightens it up a little more.

COVERGIRL Lash Blast Mega Volume Mascara- This mascara has appeared in a number of different tutorials and blog posts that I have done because it has to be my go to at the minute, as it adds so much length to my eyelashes without clumping them with thick coats of mascara.

SEVENTEEN Easy on the Eye Eye Palette Birthday Suit- I used a base of the Warm Ivory which is a really soft light beige, then blended in a little Sun Kissed Peach to add a little colour, again I only did this lightly so it was there but it wasn't so obvious.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour- I have this in the shade Obsession which is a really bright pink, when you first put it on it is a really in your face kind of pink, however you can dim it down a little simple by blotching it. I went with a really bright lip on this look because everything else was kind of natural and I guess I just wanted something to pop.

If you liked this look please feel free to share it, or leave a comment, you can also subscribe to my blog so you don't miss out on any future posts. If you have any requests on any posts you want to see or questions you want to ask, please feel free to get in touch either by the comments section or the contact me page :)

May Favourites

It's the 1st June today, this year is going incredibly quickly and I'm starting to lose track of it already, so here is my May favourites, this one is a shorter one because I haven't really changed anything this month as it's just gone so quickly and most of this month has been exam/assignment time which is differentially not one of my favourite times.

Book's
This month I've tried to do more reading, as I spend a unhealthy amount of time on the internet and surrounded by technology I have tried to read more to sort of have a technology detox for at least a few hours. So this month I have read a number of different books but one of my favourites has to be, Am I Normal Yet? by Holly Bourne, if you have not read this book I definitely recommend that you give it a try, it basically follows a young girl through her journey of recovery as she suffers with obsessive compulsive disorder and general anxiety, I don't want to give too much away but it sort of helps to shed some light on what it's like to have normal teenage problems on top on mental health problems, which is a reality that a lot of people out there have to deal with. I started reading the book and I just couldn't put it down, so in a few hours I had read the entire thing.

Sticking with book's I also read Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell, this book has been on my to read list for month and I have never got round to it so while walking through Waterstones (which is a book shop in case you don't know) I saw it and I knew I had to get it if I ever planned on reading it. So I Started reading it and again I couldn't put it down I was hooked, I don't know if it was the unique of the relationship that Eleanor and Park had that just made me want to find out how there story went, but I couldn't stop until I go to the end, which when I did get there it wasn't what I was expected and I now have a thousand and one questions that will forever remain unanswered and if you have read this book then you will fully understand what I mean.

Teeth
I product that I have been using for the last 2 weeks and have been loving is something called OSHUN white which is an all-natural oil pulling teeth whitener. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail about it here as I have done a full blog post on it which I will leave the link too in case you want to check it out. (OSHUN White Post)

Foundation
On to the beauty front I have only really got a couple of product's that I've tried this month (I know I'm terrible) but one of the things I have used is the Maybelline dream velvet soft matte foundation and I do really like it and used it to create a summer look which should be going up on Sunday so make sure you're subscribed so you don't miss out. I normally stay away from matte foundations as I have dry skin so they tend to dry my skin out even more, but this one is a very lightweight foundation that even with the smallest amounts generates a solid coverage and helps to hydrate my skin a little more.

Nail Polish
The next beauty item is a nail polish from Tanya Burr's cosmetic range, I love Tanya Burr she is one of my favourite Youtuber/blogger, I have a couple of different pieces from her cosmetics range and I've loved all of them. The nail polish I have been wearing lately is the Fairy Godmother which is a really faint eggshell blue/purple kind of colour, it's a cute simple colour that can easily be used in different nail art designs.

Lotion
Moisturising is important for your skin all year round, with having dry skin I have to do it a lot simply because I hate how it feels when my skin dry and worse case where the skin begins to crack because it's just awful. The one that I have been using this last month is Nivea Nourishing Lotion I got the one for dry skin, I've been using it for the last couple of weeks and my skin feel so much better, hydrated and soft which is what you want from a moisturiser. Nivea is my go to brand for skin products because it's cheap but good, moisturisers can get really expensive, but Nivea I find is a good alternative if you don't want to spend a large amount.

So that's it for this month's favourites, it's a lot more wordy then it usually even though I have wrote about less things. I'm thinking about doing next months as a video maybe so there's less for you to have to read. If you have tried any of the products, especially if you've read either of the books I'd love to have a chat about your thoughts on them let me know in the comments section below...

Also if there are any products that you want me to check out and review for you let me know and I shall try and get them up for you...
If you have any suggestions on future blog posts you'd want to see you can also leave them in the comments section below, I'm thinking of doing a Q&A kind of post (or maybe video) very soon so please leave your questions below.
