Pink Champagne

Eye makeup is something that I've been experimenting with to see what looks I can come up with. I'm always on the lookout for new eyeshadow pallets to try, while browsing in boots I can across the Seventeen Easy On The Eye birthday suit palate and decided to give it a go.

The packaging of this product makes it handy to carry with you, it is thin enough to not take up a lot of room in your makeup case. It also has a large mirror in it which makes it so convenient and has a dual end brush which makes it good if you are just getting into eye makeup.

It is a collection of 8 matte, shimmer and pearl powders, 3 metallic creams and also comes with its own eye primer, which always comes in handy. Which means that you can create a lot of different looks with it.

One particular look I've been loving that I managed to create with this palette is a pinky champagne look.

  • I first applied some of the eye primer that comes with it all over my eye lids to help with the staying power of the eye shadow.
  • I then applied Sun Kissed Peach all over my eye lid up to my brow bone.
  • Next I applied the shade Toasted Almond on my eye lid.
  • Along the crease of my eye I applied the shade Radiant Gold, and then blended it all in.
  • To finish it off I applied a little mascara.

I have worn this look on a number of different occasions, I also added a simple eye liner to it to add some more edge.
If you like this look let me know in the comments section below, and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss out on any posts.

Easter Nest Buns

Easter is an incredible time of year as there a lot of chocolate and you can eat it all day without anyone batting an eyelid at it. So as you may know if you've read some of my other blogs I have a little a sister who recently turned 8, she absolutely loves baking and making things. So she decided to she wanted to make some Easter Buns for her friends, what's better than good old simple best buns they literally cost pennies to make and are just so easy.

So first things first we melted some chocolate, which is the best part, we put it in the microwave for 30 seconds took it out and stirred it then to make sure it melted and didn't burn.

After it was all melted we just poured it over some cornflakes and mixed t all together, put them in bun cakes, added some mini eggs and left them to set. Bish Bash Bosh jobs a good one........

They are literally the simplest things in the world that you cannot really go wrong with making, they also go down a treat haha. What are your favourite Easter treats?

Easter Wreath

With Easter just around the corner I decided to give some little Easter themed crafts a go. I absolutely love the concepts of wreath, they are just so simple and pretty; so I decided to try and make one for Easter. I did a quick Google to see what ideas were out here and a lot of them just seemed way too far out of my abilities, because my crafty skills are rather limited.

Things you'll need:

  • Water balloons
  • Different colour threads
  • White glue
  • Newspaper
  • Baking paper
  • A bowl
  • Super glue
  • Ribbon

1. Cover whatever surface you are using with the newspaper, unless you think glue stains make a good edition.

2. Blow up your water balloons, I find that about 20 makes a good size wreath.
(This is probably the hardest part of this entire thing, as the little things do actually take some effort to blow up.)

3. Take your thread and cover it in the White glue (I find that it's easier to put the White glue in a bowl and pull the thread through it) then wrap the thread around the balloons. (Use your fingers to squeeze out the excess glue it will help the thread stick a little better.)

4. Leave the balloons to completely dry, I find sitting them on top of baking paper and turning them every couple of hours helps them dry better and prevents them sticking to the paper.

5. Once they are completely dry, here's the therapeutic part, pop the balloons and remove them completely so you're left with the thread eggs. (You don't have to do this part you can leave the balloons in to add to the colour if you prefer)
6. Turn a bowl upside down on a table and arrange the eggs around it go form your wreath
7. Where the eggs touch add a little dab of superglue to attach them together.

8. Leave the glue to completely dry before you do anything else, don't move them.

9. When completely dry and attach, this should only take a few minutes, then remove the bowl and you should be left with your egg wreath.

10. Attach the ribbon to one end of the wreath and use this to hang it up.

And there you go, you should now have your cute simple Easter wreath. I know also realise that it would have been more useful if I'd have taken more pictures to show you guys, but hopefully you get the gist of how to make it and have fun doing it.

Boots Mini-Haul

Ever have those moments where you go to the shop for one thing, one innocent little thing, then end up leaving with a bag full of the stuff that you didn't really need but you wanted.... I do this every time I cannot physically just go to a shop for one thing I get distracted by everything else and buy a bunch of other stuff as well.

So I originally went into Boots go buy one lipstick, as it is one of my favourites and my sister ruined it, while I was there I decided to look at what new stuff they had gotten in and eventually just bought a few bits and bobs. So I decided why not do a boots haul so here we go.

The first thing I picked up was a new version of the lipstick that my sister ruined, which is the L'Oreal Eva collection in the shade Delicate Rose. I just love this lipstick and was devastated when my sister ruined it so I had to buy a new one.

Max Factor Skin Luminize
Also picked up some new foundation, as I've said in other posts it's rather difficult for me to buy foundation in a shade that actually works for me. As my skin is really pale I need a lighter foundation, but then this doesn't really works fog my freckles as if then just looks odd. The foundation I went with was the Max Factor Skin Luminizer In the shade Light Ivory. As I bought all of these the other day I've been testing them out and I must say that I am actually really liking it, the shade works for my skin and it just feels so lightweight

Max Factor Mastertouch
As I'd bought a new foundation I decided to buy a new concealer as well, sticking with Max Factor I bought the Max Factor Mastertouch in the shade Ivory. Concealer is a big thing for me as I have really bad bags under my eyes, regardless of how much I sleep and try to get rid of them, so I need a good concealer to help hide them away because to me they just look gross. I do really like the results of this concealer when you apply it, I usually put it on and then wait a couple of seconds before blending it in and find that it helps coverage a little better.

Gift Set
Because I'd spent so much in Max Factor makeup products you were given a free gift in which you got a nail polish, a mascara and lipstick. The good thing about them was that they were actual sized products, normal in gifts you get the mini tester kind of sized one. I haven't really tried the nail polish yet so I'm not sure what it's like quality wise but it looks a good colour. The mascara I got was the False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara, and I have been using it recently and do quite like the effects of it, it helps to highlight the length of each individual eyelash. The lipstick is also really good in the set I got the shade Stardust, which is almost of nude kind of pink when you put it on so it looks rather natural.

TRESemmé reverse wash collection
Moving away from makeup I picked up some new shampoo, I've always preferred when it comes to washing my hair to do it in reverse (so use condition, then shampoo) I have no idea why it's just how it is haha, so when I saw the new TRESemmé reverse wash collection I just had to buy it. I picked up the pre-wash conditioner and the shampoo, both of which smell amazing. I've used them a couple of times now and just like the way they make my hair look and feel, it's just so soft and shiny and more volumised.

Tangle Teezer Sticking with hair I picked up a Tangle Teezer I got the compact one, you can buy the normal size ones which are a bit bigger but I liked the look of the compact ones as they are still reasonably big so you can use them but they take up less space. I bought it in the purple, because I love purple and it's one of my favourite colour. Since I bought it I've been carrying it everywhere with me, the neat little top that comes with it is handy as it stops any buts getting tangled in it when it's in my bag and things. I love how well it works and makes getting stupid little knots out of your hair, as I have really long hair if I have it down when I go out it tends to get rather tangled, just a quick sweep with my Tangle Teezer and it sorts of all out which is what you want from a tangle brush, I find it works better than a normal brush and doesn't break my hair as much.

Elegant Touch Express
I have really short nails, the curtsey of being a nail bitter whenever I get anxious... because of this I have terrible nails that look ok when you paint them but with everything that comes with my studies I can't really have them painted. Which is why I like the idea of getting my nails done but never have the time and can't really wear fake nails for long periods of time because they just annoy me. Which is why when I come across the Elegant Touch Express Press on nails while shopping I figured I'd give them a try. They have a couple of different cute designs that come in handy
when you're going out somewhere and what to just jazz up your nails a little, you simple peel back the little plastic bit and stick them to your nails. It's as simple as that, which suited me a lot more than normal acrylic nails.

Those are the significant buys that I made, I also bought some general stuff like toothpaste and things like that which I am not going to bore you with. So that's the main things of my mini Boots haul, have you tired any of this products if so let me know what you think of them in the comments section, or if there's any products you want me to look at for you then you can also leave those suggestions in the comment box and shall try them for you.

A Special Day

So today is a special day for a special little girl, if you follow my blog and other posts that I've done then you might have an idea why. Today is my little sisters 8th birthday, which is a very big deal for her.  Unfortunately, I didn't get to see her this morning as I was at uni for a 9am start, which meant I was out of the house by 6am.

So after downing a quick coffee (black, 2 sugars) it was a quick dash to the train station to make my 6:50am train. As you can imagine it was freezing cold, no one was there and you could really see all that much because of the fog. Which is why no matter how hard I tried to make the picture of what the train station was like look good, I simply couldn't because there is nothing good about being on that early morning train before sunrise.....

Then finally after a long boring day I got to go home, again the train was awful as it was completely jam packed with everyone trying to get home, which meant the train was read hot and uncomfortable. When I arrived home I made the quick dash to pick up the cake, which if I do say so looked pretty amazing.....

It was made by my sister's friends mum, and she makes the cutest and the most amazing cakes ever. Once I got home I had the joys of giving my sister her cake, which she
absolutely loved, I also got to finally give her the present I had spent a couple of weeks putting together. I did a full blog post on the present that I did for her which I will leave the link to here.

To celebrate her birthday she decided that she wanted to go out for pizza, so we went to Pizza Hut for tea which was just simply amazing, I mean just look at it........

Which brings us to the end of the night, she is finally tucked up in bed after a full day of adventure. Now after finishing editing all of this I will be getting ready to finish binge watching The Originals... Which I am simply in love with at the moment. How has your day been? What TV series are you binge watching, or have found binge worthy?

Sisters Birthday Present

So I have a younger sister who next week who turns 8 years old! At this age she is into absolutely everything, from My Little pony to Shopkins and nearly every little kids favourite.... Frozen

So the concept of buying her my gift that she will love is nearly impossible. Instead of attempting to do this I decided to try and create her a box with a little bit of everything in. Sometimes the smaller presents turn out to be better than the bigger ones anyways haha.

So this wrapping paper is amazing, it actually
has lines on the bottom so you can follow and
cut a straight edge...
So first I found a box, nothing special just an old shoe box that was around the house, I covered this in wrapping paper just to make it look a little prettier.

I then went out and bought lots of little presents that she might like. I bought her several things including:

Shopkins
- For anyone who's never heard of these they are just little figurines that are in the shape of things that you can buy, like food, products and the new edition of pets. She absolutely loves these and has hundreds of them, there are a number of different ways you can buys these you can buy little blind baskets or you can buy various different sets. I decided to buy a little set of 5 Shopkins for £4.50, they each come with their own little shopping bag that you can hide them in which is thought was a pretty cute idea and it gives her something to store them in.

Shopkins Top Trump Cards
- These are to go with the Shopkins, the cards have a picture of each figure on and they have scores for various things and you can play different games with them. They cost £1 so I figured they`d be a cheap fun little addition to the box that she can play with.

My little pony blind bags
-One of her latest fascinations over the past couple of years is my little pony, she absolutely loves it, especially rainbow rocks. I recently learned that you can actually buy blind bags of these and in the bags is a figurine of one of the ponies. I picked a couple of these up from Asda for £2.50. I decided to grab her a couple of these so she has a chance of getting different ponies, I believe there are 12 different potential ponies that you can get.

Frozen Surprise Egg
- Frozen has been the craze of ever little girl since it first came out, my sister is also one of these people. I bought her one of the Frozen surprise eggs you have the chance of getting one of the characters and I thought they just seemed cool.

X Shot Pink Series
- I saw these and just thought they looked like a lot of fun, it`s a just a small gun that fires little rubber bullets. So like a Nerf just a very cheap little and a lot of fun, I didn`t intend on buying her one of these I just came across them in the shop and thought why not.

Little things
- In Asda which was the shop that I went to they have an isle that is for party things, so I decided to take a look and came across the section for party bag ideas. I picked up a number of little items that she would like just to fill the box a little more without making it expensive. I got her things like so stamps, a dice shaped sharpener, some colours and a cool Tetris cube rubber which I just thought was awesome.

After I bought everything I had to work out how I was going to wrap it, I thought about just wrapping every single item and then just seemed annoying to me haha, So instead I decided to fill the box with confetti and bury the presents in there so she can just dig around and try to find them

The finished product, which  just looks plain and boring but its what's inside that
counts!

February Favourites

We are now at the beginning of March and February has just passed in a blur, I didn't do a January favourites because I didn't really change anything up so most of the things I was loving were all part of my 2015 favourites. As I didn't change much in January I tried to try some new things in February to make up for it. So let's get on with it.....

Skin Care

Olay Total Effects- This is a new moisturiser that I have been using over the past month, as I've said before I have quite dry skin so I decided to give an Anti-Ageing one a try as the Lady who helped me in Boots said that she uses it and it works really well. One of the reasons I like this product is because it has SPF 15 which is what you want in a day moisturiser because although the sun is great it can be harsh on the skin so this moisturiser helps protect it. I like the way it makes my skin feel hydrated without it feeling sticky, plus if you're going to start using anti-ageing products may as well start young haha.

Simple Facial Wipes- I am always on the lookout for new facial wipes, especially make up removers, because there's a lot of choice out there but I find that a lot of them aren't actually all that good. These ones however I find are really good, I typically love Simple as a brand as a lot of their products are for sensitive skin which for me is what I look for in products. These wipes leave your face feeling nice and fresh.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water- I've been using this for a while I've just not put it in my favourites, but it has been one of my favourites for a while. It comes in handy particularly when you have a lot of makeup on, it helps taking it off making it a lot easier.

Make Up

Max Factor Skin Luminizer- I've been on the hunt for a while for a good foundation, as my skin tone is rather difficult to find a foundation in a shade that does actually look somewhat natural. I have it in the shade light ivory, which works best for my skin and adds more of a natural glow rather than a heavy coverage so it's a nice lightweight feel. It also comes with a nice little pump so it keeps it all neat and you don't waste any of it.

Max Factor Mastertouch Concealer- I have this in the shade ivory, it comes in as almost a pen kind of shape and you twist the bottom to bring the concealer up. The design of the products makes it easier to apply the concealer into the areas of blemishes with little difficulty. It's nice and bright so when I use it under my eyes it helps make me look more awake, also it doesn't crease like most other concealers.

Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick- I have this in a couple of different shades, the one I wear quite often is the shade Stardust Pink. It's an almost a natural kind of pink just with an added pop to it, its slowly becoming part of my everyday kind of wear.

Max Factor False Lash Effect Waterproof Mascara- I have really fine eyelashes and don't have the time to constantly keep getting them done, so this mascara is somewhat of a blessing. The effects it has are rather good, it helps to really highlight the length of each of your eyelashes. I have it in the colour of black/brown so it's not as dark and works really well as more of a natural enhancement on your eyelashes.

Tanya Burr Peachy Glow Cheek Palette-  This is a product that I wanted to purchase a while ago but the Superdrug where I live was always out of stock, but finally I got my hands on it and I must say there are a number of different reasons I love it. In this palette you get bronzer in the shade- beach bronze, blusher in the shade- apricot flush, and highlighter in the shade- champagne shimmer. You also get a giant mirror in the lid of the box making it convenient to take on the go with you.

Hair

TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Pre-wash conditioner and shampoo- When it comes to washing hair I've always been a little weird and preferred to reverse wash my hair (conditioner, then shampoo) rather than use conditioner last, I have no idea why but it's just how it is haha. So when I saw this I just had to give it a shot, overall I am impressed it leaves my hair feeling soft and silky and looks volumised which is exactly what it claims to do.

Tangle Teezer- This is an absolute little gem that I now carry absolutely everywhere with me, it as the name suggest de-tangles your hair and I am impressed with how well it actually works I find that it works better than most brushes as it de-tangles you hair without breaking it. Also the design of it is so compact that you can carry it without it taking up too much rooms it comes with a little top that you can put on to stop and crap getting in it when it's in your bags.

Other

Sunny D- For those who don't know this a citrus juice drink, as a kid I used to absolutely love it and practically lived off it. The local shop where I live have recently just started selling it and I just love it so it has to make my favourites.

Blanket- over the last month it's been rather cold, some days it got a little warmer then gone freezing again. So I decided to buy a nice fuzzy blanket and I love it. I bought it from Asda I like it because it's grey on one side but a cream colour on the other so it literally fit in wherever you put it.

Pjs- These are actually part of a little insiders joke between me and my friends. I do actually really like these pjs, the fit of them is fitted enough to wear, but baggy enough to be really comfortable to sleep in.
